This Cinematic Hollywood Photography Workshop aims to teach and provide participants with the skills and knowledge necessary to capture stunning, evocative portraits through the use of lighting and atmospheric conditions.

Participants can expect to have hands-on practice through practical exercises that will reinforce your learning, gain a better understanding on techniques and equipment required to capture captivating portraits and to be equipped with a solid foundation on art direction in regard to Hollywood Glamour Portraiture Photography that participants can utilise to expand their portfolio in the future.

In this workshop, participants will be introduced to Classical Hollywood Cinema, in which lighting is used to create depth and dimensionality, such as the usage of three-point lighting techniques.

Participants can also benefit from learning about the arrangement of actors and props to create a sense of space and visual interest, chiaroscuro lighting to create drama and contrast as well as various production elements that will be broken down so that you will understand all processes to make the most of your creative endeavours.

  • Lighting: Type of equipment needed and the set-up to emulate the scene

  • Composition: See things from more than a singular perspective to maximise the scene

  • Post-processing: Participants will learn how to work with raw images, grade their images and bring out the best in the photos captured.

  • Set-design and production: Learn how to build small but impactful sets and the process behind planning a shoot.

FAQ

Must I be proficient in photography?

Participants should have an understanding of basic camera functions such as ISO, shutter speed, aperture and manual settings on your camera.

Who is this workshop for?

Hobbyists or professional photographers looking to add to their portfolio, experiment with a new style and art direction in photography,

Will food and refreshments be provided?

Yes, lunch will be provided in the form of a bento box as well as water and drinks.

Studio 2020 will contact participants upon a successful booking to check on participant’s dietary requirements if any.

Do you offer different payment options?

Do I have to bring my own camera?

There will be plenty of opportunities to shoot, so yes, do bring your camera.

Do I need to bring any other additional equipment?

No. All lighting and other equipment will be provided. Please do bring your own memory cards and batteries. We ask that participants not bring tripods as they can be obtrusive.

Is there parking at the event’s venue?

Yes, on-site parking is available.

Will I be receiving any supporting materials?

The duration of the course will be a full-shoot day at 8 hours, lunch and refreshments will be provided during the workshop. Set design, lighting/studio equipment, model, hair and make-up artist will be present.
